My Weight Tracker is live
Today's the day. After a few weeks of beta testing, My Weight Tracker is officially out: a free, no-sign-up way to log a weekly weigh-in and watch the trend rather than the daily noise. Everything stays on your device, there's no account to create, and it works offline. If you've been looking for something quieter than the usual diet apps, give it a try.

Wegovy pills now available
An oral version of Wegovy (semaglutide) has started reaching pharmacies, adding to the injectable pen as an option for people prescribed the medication. Whichever form you're using, a weekly weigh-in is still a good way to see the trend behind the ups and downs.
This isn't medical advice. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about whether either form is right for you.

Why protein matters when you're losing weight
When you're in a calorie deficit, your body will pull energy from fat and muscle alike unless you give it a reason not to. Eating enough protein helps preserve muscle mass while you lose weight, which keeps your metabolism higher and leaves you looking and feeling better at the end of it, not just lighter. It also tends to be more filling than carbs or fat, which makes the deficit easier to stick to. A rough starting point many dietitians suggest is around 1.2–1.6g of protein per kg of body weight a day, spread across meals, but check with a doctor or registered dietitian for guidance suited to you.

Beta testing begins
My Weight Tracker enters beta today. A small group of testers will be putting the app through its paces over the next few weeks, logging real weigh-ins and helping iron out the rough edges before the official launch. If that's you, thank you.
