Privacy

Your data stays on your device.

My Weight Tracker has no server, no database, and no account system. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing we could see even if we wanted to.

What's stored, and where

Your starting weight, goal, unit preference, and every weigh-in you log are saved using your browser's localStorage, on the device you're using. That data never leaves your browser: it isn't uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere, because the app has no server to send it to.

What that means in practice

Analytics & hosting

This site uses Plausible for analytics, a privacy-friendly service that doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect or store any personal data. It only tells us aggregate things like how many people visited and which pages they looked at, so we can't identify individual visitors. The site itself is hosted on Netlify, who serve the pages and files but never see anything you enter into the app, since that data stays in your browser's localStorage and is never sent anywhere.

Not medical advice

My Weight Tracker is a simple trend-tracking tool. It isn't a medical device and doesn't offer health guidance. If weight loss affects your health, please talk to a doctor or registered dietitian.

Data controller & contact

My Weight Tracker is built and run independently by Chris Naylor, who acts as data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR. In practice there's little to control: as above, nothing is collected, stored, or transmitted anywhere but your own device. If you have questions about this notice, want to raise a data protection concern, or would like to exercise any rights you have under GDPR, contact chris@myweighttracker.co.uk.
